Acupuncture is an ancient chinese system of medicine in the practice of which a fine needle pierces the skin to a depth of a few millimeters and is
then withdrawn. The only thing of real importance in the study of Acupuncture is to know what point to pierce the skin in relation to which disease.
Acupuncture is also based on the fact that stimulation of the skin has an effect on the internal organs and on other parts of the body. In all diseases, whether physical or mental, there are tender areas at certain points on the surface of the body, which disappear when the illnesss is cured. These are called acupuncture points. |
