Qi-Gong is a type of self training method by which the practitioner used the initiative to train the body and mind, providing holistic training for self-resilience, self adjustment, body building, prophylaxis, curing diseases, invigorating and strengthening the constitution, resisting premature aging, and prolonging life.

The main characteristics of Qi-Gong include the training of Essential Qi in the human body, which integrates mental activity with body postures and respiration. Therefore, Qi-Gong is regarded as an important method of treating diseases and extending life.
